The workshops involve 12 hours of contact time, which includes lectures, readings, writing exercises, peer critique, and individual tutorials. Participants are expected to work at an advanced and accelerated level. Fees: Workshop fees are £60. Bursaries are available. Application process: The application materials for Summer 2010 are available now! Just click here to download. Registration closes May 19. What past participants have said about the workshops: "Just generally feel immensely awed by the world of poetry, much much more than I did, feel humbled and excited. The very inspiring teacher manages to bridge out to all pupils in a way that makes the exposure of one's poetry to others in such an intimate setting a very pleasurable (or exhilarating?) and non-threatening experience, at the same time grounding everything in a work ethic that I find very encouraging. Bloody marvelous 2 weeks." "I arrived here wanting to be challenged and enabled to take work forward. This has given me opportunities, and techniques/tools - and inspiration!" "Immersion in poetry for two weeks has been wonderful. The teacher's enthusiasm infected the group and I've come away wanting to do nothing but read and write poetry (and talk about it)." "I felt that this course helped my attentiveness and helped me really be a better writer. It also made me aware of how very different poems/writers can be in style, and that my writing doesn't have to follow rigid standards."
